Introduction of the Laboratory : Occupational and Environmental Health

Our lab is focusing on the prevention of environmental factor-mediated diseases thorough elucidation of mechanisms for the diseases using methods of fieldwork study including epidemiology and cutting-edge study of molecular biology as shown below.

<Fieldwork study>
　1. Environmental Health Science for water polluted by toxic elements
　2. Epidemiology to investigate the effects of elements, noise and UV on human health

<Molecular Biology study>
　1. Molecular Oncology for melanoma
　2. Neurophysiology for deafness and balance
　3. Skin Biology using original model mice

We are recruiting graduate students who are interested in interdisciplinary research consisting of cutting-edge molecularbiology study and fieldwork study including epidemiology. Candidates who have passed the selection of scholarship from Monbukagakusho (MEXT) in Japan or their own country are especially welcome.
